  • Athena and Hephaestos were enshrined. The temple is one of the best preserved temples.

In Byzantine times the temple was used as St. Gorge Chapel.

  • The base is 4.45m x 32.53m square and center of the base is slightly raised up as in the temple of Parthenon.
  • The proportion of the base is almost 4 by 9 which is same as the Temple of Parthenon but the temple of Hephaestos is smaller than the cella of the Partenon.
  • There are 6 Doric columns in front and 13 in side. Their entasis are lighter than the Parthenon.
