DecisionFlows™ is a PC based software product that enables any
business person to generate .NET web services software for “know how”
practices for decision making and actions, via a simple decision-chart. The
web service, an application that runs on the corporate intranet or the web, is
generated in seconds without programming.
Business Need
Corporate policies such as Human Resources, Health and Safety and
Customer Service are aligned to the strategic goals of the organisation and
may be bounded by regulations imposed by governments. With alarming
frequency, carefully constructed policies fail in implementation. The
consequences of such failures have an adverse impact on market perception,
brand, and valuation and customer relationships. Execution failures occur
where policy fails to permeate every day business activity. If policy is
separated from work tasks breaches will occur. The most common
representation of policy is in the form of procedures. DecisionFlows and the
web services it generates enable procedures to be "baked into the job" such
that it can't be avoided, thus providing a highly effective policy execution
vehicle.
Solution
DecisionFlows can be used by any practitioner to capture know-how
to support procedures. The procedure is documented by building a simple
decision-chart. Once complete, the web service is generated in seconds.
Validation by a line manager or experts may be required to ensure quality.
The procedure can then be set live on the .NET web services infrastructure
and used throughout the organization.
Forms play a key part in the way organizations work. Issues arise where
knowledge and decision making is required to complete a form. To
overcome this problem know-how needs to be “baked” into the form to
support “just-in-time” decision making. These “smart forms” can be created
by using Microsoft XP Word, Excel or Infopath and the Zeedv Workbench.

form.
